The Museum offers a unique collection in New Aquitaine.
Discover the progress of medicine throughout history.
The permanent collection of several thousand items and
books retraces the major developments in radiology, dentistry
and instruments of radiology, dentistry, gynaecology...
and their practices. The room dedicated to pharmacy allows you to navigate from the herbalist's shop (traditional herb mill) to the pharmacy and to understand how medicines were made in the past.
The emblematic patients' room recreates the atmosphere of a 17th century ward. A place at the heart of the Hôtel-Dieu de Hautefort.
Temporary exhibition 2021: "The work of Louis Pasteur, the artist and the visionary". The visit begins or ends with a discovery of the medicinal herb garden arranged by the Herbalist in Hautefort.
